Seventy years ago, a young and enterprising Queenslander recognised a need in the building industry and decided to take action. Les Palmer set up a makeshift steel fabrication business in his backyard, producing one-off handrails and columns for local builders. Through word of mouth, his small venture quickly grew, and before long, the increasing demand from his customers necessitated expansion.
